His miracles paled in comparison to Gods miracles and signs which were done by Philip. 9 Prior to that time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and astounded the people of Samaria. ![]() In this passage, we read about the Gospel going to Samaria, despite the influence of Simon the Sorcerer. In chapter 7 we read about the boldness of Stephen, preaching to the Sanhedrin concerning their rebellion against God. Even though there was a fantastic response to the gospel in Samaria, one such difficulty ensued when Simon, the local sorcerer, believed and attempted to buy the power of the Holy Spirit from the apostles.
